El festival SŪPYNĖS es una macro rave con música non-stop durante 3 días. De Viernes a Domingo. Es uno de los festivales más interesantes del este de Europa del estilo musical electro-minimal. Resulta que yo no pretendía ir éste año, a pesar de que algún amigo mío iba a ir, pero resulta que un buen amigo mío lituano, Saras, ha conseguido entradas gratis para el festival y vamos a ir!!

Aunque únicamente iremos a partir del medio día del Domingo, ya que el Sábado tenemos una macro acampada en una finca en Rokiškis (noreste de Lituania) de un amigo de Monika en medio de la naturaleza.

Como veréis, no paro. Ha sido acabar el curso y tener 1.000 planes. Ya os contaré cómo ha ido la macro rave. Nunca he estado en una, imagino que será algo interesante.

Supynes 2013

Supynes es uno de los festivales más interesantes de todo el este de Europa. Con 8 años de experiencia, el festival se desarrolla en Pakretuone, un bosque situado en la región lituana de Svencionys, comenzando el día 21 de junio y terminando el día 24 del mismo mes. En expansión constante desde su fundación como rave, el festival ha pasado por todas las etapas hasta convertirse en lo que es hoy: un evento con 4 escenarios y actuaciones de respetados proyectos internacionales. Este 2013 se añadirá un quinto que sólo se abrirá a primera hora de la mañana para los más resistentes o los más madrugadores. El cartel, con más de 30 directos y 40 DJs, es de impresión y se decanta por el lado más experimental de la electrónica, sea de baile o no. Destacar la presencia de Levon Vincent, Conforce, Vatican Shadow, Cut Hands,Tomas More y un gran número de proyectos de la prácticamente desconocida escena electrónica del este de Europa. Toda una oportunidad para conocer lo que nos traerá el frío.

The 2013 Eurotrip

Long time ago, in the summer of 2009, 5 friends + me decided to make our first Eurotrip. We took our huge backpacks and traveled around Europe for 26 days. We visited Austria, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium. That was the first travel on my own (without my parents or teachers) and I think it was then were everything (my passion about travelling) started.

Four years and five countries later, we decided to do this summer something similar.

The journey will start in Kaunas, the lithuanian city where I’ve been already living for 3 years. We will travel around the country and I’ll be visiting three towns where I’ve never been before, Ignalina, Nida and Šventoji. After finishing the lithuanian tour, we will take a plane from Vilnius straight to Barcelona. After drinking, sweating, walking, sleeping, partying, shopping, visiting and eating enough in my beautiful birth-place-city we will go straight to Logroño, which since almost a couple of decades is my hometown.

Next to Logroño, there’s a great city called Bilbao, where we will be going to the BBK Live 2013 music festival. Great bands, awesome location and many of my best friends will be joining us there. What could be better?

2 days after the show it’s done, and with all the batteries fully charged again, we will take another plane to go to London (really really excited about that!! :D) where we plan to spend one day and one night and later drive to Bristol, where our journey will end. Well, we will spend few days there and then we will GO BACK HOME.

So, summarizing, this year we (@manishee and me) will be travelling for about 21 days, will visit 3 european countries, will be in 11 different cities and will drink $infty$ types of beers.

My plan is to be writing here during the trip about how is it going, so, if you are curious, STAY TUNED!

Fateuser Eats: Flamenco (Kaunas, Lithuania)

The Review: This one might be one of my favorite restaurants here in Kaunas. I’ve probably been here about 20 times and still like it (well, it makes sense, if I didn’t like it that much I wouldn’t probably have come that often). They opened in 2010 and at the beginning I was a bit curious about how would be the spanish cuisine here in Kaunas. Well, if you expect to have the typical patatas bravas or the best paella from Valencia you shouldn’t come here. Because basically, as it happens everywhere, you can’t find the exact meals in other places outside from the original country. But, even though they aren’t 100% as the originals (I’d rather qualify them with a well earned 91%) they are delicious. The service is quite good (even though sometimes, depending if it’s full or not you have to wait a lot) and they speak english fluently (something really helpful when it’s your first time here in Kaunas). The decoration brings you to a secret (well, not that secret since they are located in the main street) spanish spot with nice music and great lighting. It’s the perfect place to chill and enjoy a great meal. If you decide to go, I would recommend you to take the big spanish sandwich and of course, don’t forget the patatas bravas with alioli.

Visita turística a Vilnius

Hace ya un tiempo empecé una miniserie de viajes en mi canal de YouTube. Siempre que viajo a algún sitio nuevo me gusta documentarlo con fotos y vídeo, así que pensé para mí mismo, ¿Por qué no hacer una miniserie donde haga una especie de visita turística a los sitios a los que viajo? Así que dicho y hecho empecé este apartado. Se llama (como podéis ver en la foto de cabecera) Fateuser Viaja.

Finlandia y México son algunos de los países que aparecen en la sección. También hago mucho hincapié en enseñar sitios de Lituania ya que es en el país en el que vivo actualmente.

Hace ya un tiempo me fui de visita a Vilnius (para quienes no lo sepáis, es la capital de Lituania) y decidí grabar un vídeo sobre la ciudad (o mejor dicho, una parte de ella) y así es como quedó. ¡¡Espero que os guste!!

The Review: For a long long time I wanted to visit and taste the food of this restaurant. From outside looks so cozy and once that you get inside of it you realize that it is really sightly. Really good vibes. The place is located in the heart of Kaunas’ Old Town, really close to the greek restaurant Rhodos. The food is a truly tasty and french food. Ok, I’m not an expert in gallic food, I’ve just been about 4 times in France, but from what I remember, the piquancy of those delicacies was quite similar. We had French Salad with baguette covered with goat cheese which was flavorful and also Duck à l’orange. I would qualify this dish as Mouthgasmic. Even though the portions aren’t really big (if you are really hungry I would recommend you to have a starter, a main course and probably dessert) they were tasty enough to satisfy me. We accompanied our dinner with a white wine called Couleurs du sud, Chardonnay, 2009 which was, in fact, sweet and easy to drink.

Las mejores vistas de Kaunas

Ya llevo aproximadamente 25 meses viviendo en Kaunas y cada vez me sorprende más la ciudad. O mejor dicho, cada vez me aventuro más a descubrirla. Recuerdo que en mi primer año apenas me apetecía conocer nuevas cosas. Quizá era por ser mi primer año fuera de España o porque no había conocido a las personas indicadas. (Sinceramente creo que era una mezcla de ambas).

Pero, desde mediados de mi segundo curso aquí empecé a llevarme más con gente lituana, algunos de Kaunas otros no. La verdad es que no me había dado cuenta antes la de ventajas que tiene relacionarte con personas propias de este país. Un día escribiré una entrada al estilo de «Por qué tener amigos lituanos si estudias en Lituania».

De hecho, el otro día fui a visitar la iglesia de La Resurrección de Cristo (nombre tétrico donde los haya). En mi primer año y parte del segundo solía vivir muy cerca de ésta construcción, pero nunca me decidí a visitarla.

Las vistas desde la Iglesia

La subida a la terraza son 5lt si coges las escaleras (no son demasiadas ni mucho menos) y 7lt si coges el ascensor. Si no habéis estado nunca aquí merece mucho la pena. Es un sitio completamente recomendable.

Me gustó tanto que decidí hacer un Vlog desde la terraza. Espero que os guste. 😉

Fateuser Eats: Paukščių takas (Milky Way) (Vilnius, Lithuania)

The Review: It was the first time I was visiting the Vilnius TV tower (a really emblematic lithuanian construction). The price of the ascension to the restaurant (located at the height of 165 metres) is a bit expensive from my point of view but the sightseeing really deserves the price. The restaurant is a rotating one. I discovered it when I was sitting at the table and looking the lithuanian sunset and suddenly I realized that we were moving. Quite cool. The first one (and hopefully not the last one) I’ve ever been. The food wasn’t anything impressive, I had an apple pie with ice cream with an acorn coffee (really tasty actually). The best thing was the view of Vilnius.

The Review: Found in the heart of Kaunas’ old town, Rhodos is a new (2012) Greek restaurant. Really nice ambient with an exceptional food. I ordered the Dolma (a mixture of minced meat and rice surrounded by vineyard leave) which was especially delicious. Also I had the Pita (greek bread with olive oil) which was also really tasty. This last one is nothing really hard to make, but still. Great vibes accompanied with the dim light that you can see in the picture upwards.

Los Pirineos y yo: Una historia de amor.

No se que será que tienen los Pirineos pero estoy enamorada. Sí, de verdad. Me gustan mucho las montañas (soy de esos de los que si das a elegir entre mar y montaña elijo ambos) tanto en invierno como en verano. Joder, esto parece una redacción del colegio.

Yo creo que lo que más me atrae es la libertad que desprenden. La frescura. La sensación de ser tan pequeño ante algo tan grande. Y lo bueno que tienen es que son dos caras (no, no las caras de la montaña gallofas…) la montaña es completamente diferente en invierno y en verano. Bueno, si es un glaciar tanto en invierno como en verano habrá nieve, por lo que el cambio será muy reducido.

Voy a los pirineos cada año desde que tengo 7. Y ahora tengo unos cuantos más. No te lo voy a decir. Vente aquí y calcúlalo.

Que altas son las montañas. Hay que ver. Y además están hechas de rocas. Y nieve. Y árboles. Y criaturas obra del señor habitando sus cumbres y laderas.

¿Qué pensaría Sauron de los pirineos? ¿Les echaría el ojo?

Google Maps – Kaunas

¡¡Google Maps ha llegado a Kaunas!!

Resulta que el otro día google maps llegó a lituania y decidí buscar mi casa en Kaunas. Para mi sorpresa descubrí que efectivamente salía mi casa. Reconocerás mi balcón por tener una bandera de La Rioja.

Y tú, ¿tienes algo colgado en tu balcón o ventana para hacer tu casa reconocible?
